Fist
of Steel was conceived as a band project band in 1998. Some members of the
band The Skulls teamed up with some other musicians in order to write some
harder songs musically, and lyrically more politically outspoken. With the
help of a German friend, the band started working on some songs and were
later also helped out by Ken McLellan who wrote 2 songs exclusively for
Fist Of Steel.
The band started out with the following people: Wilson (guitar), Leo
(keyboards & drums), Led (bass) and Midgard (vocals). An interesting
fact though is that the vocals on the album are done by Wilson. Midgard
arrived way too late at the studio, only to find out that Wilson had done
the vocals in the meantime and that there was no money left for another
studio session.
A release for the recordings was agreed upon with some German label,
but when that fell through in the end, the band was more than happy to
be able to hook up with Pure Impact to see these 10 songs released as
the "The power and the glory" album.
The band is working on songs for a second album at the moment, and 2
of those new songs will be featured on the LP version of the "The
power and the glory" album, which is to come out on the German
Blind Beggar record label, 1 new song will be featured on a Realskinheads.net
compilation in the U.S.A...
What was originally conceived as a studio project seems to evolve more
and more into a proper skinhead band, which will continue to speak out
against the red evil !
Due to serious problems that individual band members suffered,
Fist Of Steel has been inactive for almost 4 years, until now spring 2004,
but they are back in full force, and have kept the faith in the band and
still have the energy to keep it going.
In the meantime the band appeared in on some compilation CD's all over
and also recorded many songs for new releases with the help of new musicians!
On the new "Reds hunter" album, the line-up of the band
Jeff (lead guitar), Ozy (drums), Heron (drums), Wilson (vocals, guitar
& bass) and Leo (keyboards). This new CD album, along the lines of
"The power and the glory", the style is a mix of hard
skinhead rock and ballads with songs about faith, folk and family!
